How to Write Capital Letter H in Cursive
Start your pencil at the topline. Bring your stroke downward to the baseline. Pick up your pencil and begin again at the topline (to the right of the first stroke made) and go all the way to the baseline again. Then follow the stroke back up to almost the midline. Make a small curl up and left to the first stroke line. Finish the letter off by bringing a tail to the midline on the right of the letter.
How to Write Lowercase Letter h in Cursive
Cursive letter formation for lowercase letter h is easy to write. D’Nealian has a lead-in, so you will start your pencil on the baseline, curving upwards towards the topline. Once you reach the topline, curve back to the left and head down to the baseline. Follow the last line back up to the midline and create a hump that goes all the way down to the baseline. Curve slightly before the baseline again to create the tail.

Connecting a capital “H” in cursive can be done smoothly by lifting the pen slightly after completing the first stroke of the “H” before moving to the next letter. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
- Write the capital cursive “H”: Start at the top line, move downward with a vertical stroke, then form a second vertical stroke parallel to the first one.
- To connect to the next letter: Lift your pen slightly after completing the second vertical stroke of the “H”.
- Continue to the next letter: Begin the next letter from where the second stroke of the “H” ends.
