Flower Petals Coloring Page Tips

If you LOVE how our flower coloring pages turned out, here are some fun coloring tips you can use when you are coloring too! In the photo above you can see an upclose look at some fun ways to color.

  • When a flower has white petals, consider using a light blue, or even a light melon color around the edges of the petals. This gives the flower some depth and shadow, while still retaining the impression of white petals.
  • For roses and tulips, choose three or four adjacent colors on the color wheel. For example, pink, red, orange, yellow and color in a gradient/ombre pattern with the brightest color at the tips of the petals. This gives the flower shadow and highlight.
  • Instead of plain, old, boring brow….consider that red, green, and blue can be blended together to create a more engaging design.

Leaves & Stems Coloring Page Tips

Similarly, when coloring in flower stems and leaves, use more than just one shade of green. In fact, use greens, yellows, and browns! You can overlay the colors and blend them in to add more texture and depth to your leaves.
